Soft Crane Qigong
White Crane Qigong
Soft White Crane Qigong is a gentle and energizing practice inspired by the movements of a crane. It’s rooted in Martial Qigong and focuses on connecting the body’s six "bows" — the legs, arms, chest, and back — with their energetic pathways. The practice emphasizes relaxed, flowing whole-body movements paired with deep, rhythmic breathing called Grand Circulation. Imagine a crane perched on a reed in a windy marsh, using its wings and legs to stay balanced. That’s the spirit of this practice.
Why Practice White Crane Qigong?
The main goal of Soft Crane Qigong is to connect and coordinate the body’s power sources (legs, arms, chest, and back) so energy flows smoothly and efficiently. It’s practiced with a soft and mindful approach, using Grand Circulation breathing to guide energy (Qi) while building strength and flow. It’s a relaxing, yet dynamic workout.
What You’ll Learn in Class:
- Grand Circulation Breathing: This is the foundation of Crane Qigong. You’ll learn how to move Qi through key energy pathways (the Governing and Conception vessels) and direct it to your arms, hands, and feet.
- Movement Patterns: The class includes 24 movement patterns to practice and refine.
- Stepping and Motion: Once you’ve got the basics down, stepping is introduced. This combines full-body movement, momentum, balance, and focus to help energy flow smoothly while you move or turn.
This practice is perfect for anyone looking for a gentle yet effective way to move, breathe, and connect with their energy.
